What is GATA?

GraduAction Talent Academy (GATA)

is a structured programme designed for final year undergraduate students  to equip them with the necessary knowledge and transferable skills for their graduate employability and career development. Students will also learn how to integrate smoothly and professionally into the workplace after graduation.

Objectives of GATA

  • Support final year undergraduate students to enhance employability skills and make informed career choices by taking into account the graduate labour market and their knowledge, skills and abilities ​

  • Strengthen students' confidence and professional soft skills in exploring, crafting and excelling in their career

5 Practical Training Workshops

1 Individual Career Coaching

Eligibility & Requirement

  • Undergraduate students graduating in 2022 are eligible to enroll

  • Students who have attended at least THREE training workshops are eligible for a one-hour Individual Career Coaching session (with limited quota)

  • Students who have attended ALL training workshops as well as the Individual Career Coaching session and submitted all required assignments are eligible to apply for one credit in the Credit Award Scheme for Out-of-classroom Learning Experiences.


Practical Training Workshops

Topic 1:  Understanding & Crafting your Squiggly Career
13 Sep (Mon) 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm (2.5 hours)

🔑 Key Content and Objective

  • Discuss the changes and challenges in current graduate market

  • Explore your core values, super strengths and opportunities in your own Squiggly Career

🔒 Activity

  • Identify your personal core value and super strength; personalise your Squiggly Career in 5-step process

Topic 2:  Acing your CV & Cover Letter
20 Sep (Mon) 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm (2 hours)

🔑 Key Content and Objective

  • Learn the essential structure in writing a cover letter that can get you an Interview

  • Review how to ace your CV using the OKR technique

🔒 Activity

  • Review sample Cover Letter and CV in class; discuss how to customize and enhance your CV using OKR

Topic 3:  Winning in Recruiting & Interview Process
27 Sep (Mon) 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm (2 hours)

🔑 Key Content and Objective

  • Become familiar with the main selection methods used by recruiters

  • Practise how to win in your interview using the PPF framework

🔒 Activity

  • Review common recruiting and assessment processes; role-play on interview using common and challenging Q&A

Topic 4:  Job Offer Evaluation & Personal Branding
4 Oct (Mon) 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm (2 hours)

🔑 Key Content and Objective

  • Learn how to evaluate potential multiple job offers using critical personal factors

  • Understand the importance and framework in shaping your personal brand


🔒 Activity

  • Review multiple careers / job offers using decision framework; develop your personal brand step-by-step

Topic 5:  Professional Etiquette & Workplace Integration
11 Oct (Mon) 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm (2 hours)

🔑 Key Content and Objective

  • Understand the Top 5 Tips in work etiquette under organizational environment

  • Prepare a gliding path for your first graduate job on-boarding and landing plan


🔒 Activity

  • Discuss Do’s & Don’ts in workplace etiquette; walk through the essential steps in 30/60/90 days plan


Individual Career Coaching

In the one-hour Individual Career Coaching session, the coach will provide personalised guidance on:

a)    Identifying your own personal values and super strengths
b)    Exploring Squiggly Career opportunities
c)    Preparing for your CV and job interviews
d)    Preparing for your first job on-boarding

* ONLY students who have attended at least THREE training workshops are eligible for Individual Career Coaching.

* Limited quota is available for Individual Career Coaching on a first-come-first-served basis.

Enrolment for
GATA 1st Semester, 2021/22

Notes for Enrolment:

  • All the workshops in GATA will be conducted online by Zoom in English.

  • Only undergraduate students graduating in 2022 will be accepted.

  • You will receive a confirmation email if your enrolment is accepted. 

  • Enrolment is on a first-come-first-served basis. When the quota is full, the enrolment form will be closed.

  • The Zoom link and details will be provided to enrolled participants through email.

  • To be eligible for the one -hour Individual Career Coaching, please make sure you have 100% attendance and participation in at least THREE training workshops.

  • You have to fulfil the completion requirement (attendance in ALL training workshops and individual career coaching session, and submission of all required assignments) to be eligible to apply for one credit in the Credit Award Scheme for Out-of-classroom Learning Experiences.

  • Enrolled participants who fail to complete all workshops may be put in a lower priority for future programme enrolment.

  • As quota is limited, you are encouraged to enroll as soon as possible.
